A NIGHT UNDER THE STARS

Sleep outs are becoming more and more popular as they are perfect for those wanting to just dip their toes in the adventure pool.  They are always combined with a more luxury lodge stay as the sleep outs are always offered as an additional activity at a particular lodge.  The Khwai area and Okavango Delta are the two areas in Botswana that offer this spectacular activity.  

To sum them up, they are all fairly similar and are normally offered to just 2 guests wanting something totally different, but a few of the lodges do offer this as a group activity which is perhaps a little less scary.  The sleep outs normally start at about dusk where you are dropped off at the sleep out and your guide then leaves you there in the safety of your treetop sleep out (radios are provided so you can call for collection).  You then spend the night under the stars and are collected the next morning and taken back to the lodge for morning game drive and breakfast.
